The magnificent tall red-brick structure at Kibuye, along Kisumu-Kakamega Road, reaches high into the Kisumu skyline. The original church was built by Catholic Dutch missionaries crossing over from Uganda to evangelise the Kenyan side of lake Victoria around 1900 AD.In these they were most successful . A Mass service here is a most uplifting experience spiritually, architecturally and historically as I found out on a recent visit on 02/04/2016. On the opposite of the road is the busy Kibuye open air market serving all East Africa and selling almost everything.
