About me
Hi, I have worked in design, professional cooking, and education, in London, Sydney, Tokyo, Beijing, and Ho Chi Minh City. I have taught all ages and levels from ages 3 to 85, one on one or group lessons. I have traveled to 28 countries and lived in eight different countries, and I now live on a boat (which is quiet, except for ducks sometimes. Ducks make noise. Ducks sometimes walk on the roof of my boat). I am always curious about other cultures, especially food. In total I have spent 22 years living in Asia, fourteen years of which were in Japan. I very much enjoy teaching as I have learned a lot myself from my students. I am patient, good humoured, and thoughtfully creative.
My lessons & teaching style
All ages from ten years to adults. I do appreciate one to one classes with adult business students, having previously worked as an English teacher at Nissan, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Goldman Sachs, Sharp, and many other Japanese corporations. I worked as a senior high school teacher in China, so am very familiar with preparing students for applications to universities in USA, Canada, UK, and Australia.
