About me
My name is Miss Kaylee and I come from the United Kingdom which is where I completed my teacher training. I am a fully qualified teacher with experience working in schools in the UK as well as in international schools in Africa and Asia. I also have experience in managerial roles within schools and my previous position was as the Head of Key Stage 2.
In addition to tutoring primary school children online, I am also a curriculum consultant for Cambridge and British international schools in Vietnam and deliver training sessions to teachers looking to use Singapore maths, Shanghai maths and White Rose maths teaching methods.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching philosophy very much centres around instilling a love of learning in my children. I achieve this by helping them to develop growth mindsets and by providing them with engaging and interactive learning experiences, tailored to their individual needs.
I utilise some of the top interactive digital learning platforms (Pear Deck etc.) in order to deliver effective online lessons and my tutees also benefit from accounts with the following educational apps:

- Quizlet
- TT Rockstars
I adopt a mastery approach to teaching which means that I encourage children to develop a deeper, more secure understanding by having them explain their reasoning and apply their learning regularly.
I also believe very much in the importance of developing a growth mindset as it has been so strongly linked with future success. I therefore teach children about how our brains can grow and develop to help them understand how we can "get smarter" and "grow our brains" with hard work and the right learning strategies. I help children recognise that mistakes are a part of learning and that they can give us information so I expect them to always have a try.
